Art Bernklau is a legend in his own time... he is a
tireless Veteran's advocate who founded
Veterans for Constitutional Law, Ltd... He
has demanded attention from the "powers that be" in the Veteran's
Administration. He has been cited for "Contempt
of Congress". He and I are collaborating our efforts to bring
the TRUTH to the American people, about the exploitation and
outright abuse of our brave men and women who defend freedom at the
cost of life, limb, and sanity. My contribution to this effort is
the donation of this Web site to Veterans For Constitutional Law - not a meager undertaking... to what I
consider to be a worthy cause whose time has come to be put into the
spotlight of American consciousness (if there even IS such a thing
anymore).
Mr. Bernklau appeared
several times as a guest on
Radio Liberty
with Dr. Stan Monteith as I did. His discussion on the air about
corruption in the Veteran's Administration on June 20, 2005 is a
program that every veteran and everyone who is concerned about the
treatment that the men and women who defend our country get from
their government MUST listen to.
Finally, I must say that
in the short time I've known Art, he has become a very close, dear
and trusted friend. His brand of advocacy is a breath of fresh air,
because quite frankly, there are not too many people in this world
who have the chutzpah to do what this man has done to bring
America's attention to the plight of disabled veterans. He is a
defiant, no-nonsense, and sometimes "Loony-Tunes" pain in the ass to
those who turn their back on - (or worse - exploit) the men and
women who stand in harm's way to defend America from its enemies.
His recent
spearheading of the class-action lawsuit
on behalf of disabled and injured veterans against the Veteran's
Administration is a major victory for the cause... the "cause" being
to compel this government to make good on its promises to the brave
men and women who enlisted in the Armed Services in order to defend
this country "against enemies foreign or domestic". These promises
were broken. There has been a continuous pattern of outright abuse,
disrespect, and the outright using of these brave souls for over 60
years. It is time for it to end. There should be no such thing in
America as a homeless veteran. Those
who profit from the misery and despair of the men and women who
fought - and some who died - for this Country... believing they were
fighting for "freedom" - or whatever the "cause of the moment" is...
those who line their pockets with the profit bought by the misery
and suffering of our troops past and present, should be exposed for
what they are, brought to justice, and made to pay for their
depraved indifference, and made to pay "the last farthing" for the
crimes they committed.
