February 10, 2007, 11:30AM - I got call from Art Bernklau, President of Veteran's For Constitutional Law this morning, informing me that contempt of Congress charges are being filed against him.... again. In the past, Art was cited for these same charges for walking his dogs (and causing them to defecate) in front of Senator Arlin Specter's Washington, DC office, and for leaving 50 pounds of elephant shit (obtained from the NY circus) in front of the senator's office door with a business card poked into the pile. Art had carried the shit in a nylon duffel bag, and put it through the X-ray machines. When asked by the guard what he had in the bag, Art replied, "Oh, just some shit", and proceeded to Mr. Specter's (aka: "Sphincter") office. In the past, Art also ran a "Send me your doo-doo" campaign, where he distributed 300 large Lowe's Theatre popcorn bags to veterans, with post-paid envelopes pre-addressed to Senator Specter's office. The senator started receiving giraffe shit, lion shit, yak shit, grizzly bear shit, rhinoceros shit, pig shit, emu-bird shit, deer shit, rabbit shit, and even more exotic turd samples in the mail. Those charges were dismissed and turned into a Washington DC health code violation, which in turn, was thrown out. The latest offense was sending a hardened dog turd on a toothpick dressed in an pink paper hors doevre diaper to Arlin Specter at the House Intelligence Committee. I have known Mr. Bernklau for several years. He is a radical activist fighting for the rights of US service veterans. His small organization Veteran's For Constitutional Law has won some stunning victories for disabled and wounded veterans who were fighting the Veteran's Administration (sometimes for decades - and sometimes until the day they died) for the medical care and veteran's benefits they are entitled to as men and women who gave their lives, their health, and their sanity in defense of this country. Art's tactics - although seemingly insane, are calculated to get the attention that logic, reason, common sense, and simple moral ethics fail to produce. Mr. Bernklau rates as "an asshole" - but he is one of the "good assholes" we spoke about on the front page of one of our other Web sites - he does these "radical" things because only a media circus seems to get any attention these days. Serious issues like Gulf War Illness, and the fact that the war in Iraq is ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL, the September11 attacks were CONTRIVED BY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT, the Gulf of Tonkin incident that got us into Vietnam NEVER HAPPENED, and even the Pearl Harbor attack was a CONSPIRACY that INVOLVED THE PRESIDENT of the United States ever get mentioned by the mainstream media - but we'll tell it to you here - and on our other Web sites. We'll tell it to you because it is TRUE.... and WE CAN PROVE IT by any standard of "legal" proof you wish. Art tells me that he is going to do his level best to turn this latest incident into the biggest media circus since the O.J. Simpson trial. He has an uphill battle fighting the corruption that preys on the vulnerability of men and women who in good faith, honorably serve their country. For the sake of all servicemen and women who are serving multiple tours in the Iraqi shit-hole, I pray he succeeds.
